Africa, Caribbean, Canada Roundtable
Purpose of the Roundtable
This closed session brings together a select group of government, business, and ecosystem leaders to shape a five-year trade mission roadmap (2026–2030) connecting Africa, the Caribbean, and Canada.
The goal is simple: to build an inclusive trilateral economic corridor that mobilizes diaspora capital, strengthens trade pathways, and accelerates innovation-driven growth.
Through this working session, participants will coordinate priorities, identify regional leads, and commit to joint actions that make future trade missions practical, funded, and results-oriented.
What is a Working Group?
A Working Group is a focused team of partner organizations formed after the Roundtable to drive the ongoing coordination, planning, and execution of Nobellum’s trade missions.
Each member of the Working Group contributes resources, expertise, or networks toward shared objectives—such as funding readiness, partner engagement, policy alignment, and reporting.
In essence, this group becomes the engine that turns Roundtable decisions into real-world outcomes across Africa, the Caribbean, and Canada.
What We’re Trying to Achieve
By the end of the Roundtable, participants will:
Align on Strategic Priorities – Define which regions and sectors will form the foundation of the trade mission schedule.
Assign Regional Leads – Identify which organizations or individuals will champion specific countries or initiatives.
Confirm Funding Pathways – Review programs such as CanExport and equivalent international partnerships to support outgoing and incoming delegations.
Form the Working Group – Establish a multi-stakeholder steering committee with clear governance and coordination mechanisms.
Map the 2026–2030 Calendar – Draft the first outline of missions going out of Canada and into Canada.
Discussion Highlights
Presentation: AFRI-CAN Strategic Framework – Building the foundation for a sustainable trilateral trade corridor.
Caribbean & African Priorities – Shared opportunities, sectoral focus, and collaboration with government and institutional partners.
Collaborative Funding Models – Approaches for joint financing and leveraging existing export or investment frameworks.
Working Group Formation – Defining membership, coordination cadence, and deliverables for the next 12 months.
Expected Outcomes
A 2026 Trade Mission Roadmap with defined regional and sectoral focus areas.
Agreement on core working group members and responsibilities.
A shared understanding of funding eligibility, governance, and reporting processes.
Clear next steps leading toward Nobellum’s Global Trade Mission Network launch.
What Participants Should Prepare
Please come ready to share:
Any trade missions or initiatives your organization is planning or has completed (2026–2030).
The three regions or sectors most aligned with your current priorities.
The resources, networks, or expertise your organization can contribute to future missions.
Why This Matters
The roundtable will serve as the official starting point for a coordinated, cross-continental trade partnership linking Canadian innovation with African and Caribbean market opportunities.
Every participant’s input will directly shape the framework guiding all future trade missions — including who leads them, how they’re funded, and how impact will be measured.
