Poetry, Performance & Collective Creation - with Ana María Caballero

​For this live encounter, poet and artist Ana María Caballero invites us into her practice through poetry, performance and collective creation.

​Ahead of the session, participants will receive a short poem from Ana María’s new book, Material, and will be invited to respond with just one word. Ana María will use all of our words to create a new digital paper sculpture, which she will reveal during the live session while taking us through the process behind it.

​During our encounter, Ana María will also read and perform selected works, and we’ll repeat the experiment together live: another poem, followed by another set of one-word responses from participants.

​Ana María will then take these words with her and, through her iterative process, transform them into a second digital paper sculpture. About a week later, the finished work will be shared with participants as a kind of postcard or memento of our time together.

​Part studio visit, part poetry reading, part performance and part collective experiment, this is an opportunity to experience an artist’s process not only by observing it, but by becoming part of it.
