About Event

Union Square Ventures and Indexed Labs are co-hosting a screening of No Country for Mothers, a documentary about the current realities of raising a family in a country that offers so little infrastructure and support.

We’re bringing together individuals in tech and venture who are raising a family—or thinking about starting one—to talk about navigating work and parenthood.

Following the screening, we’ll hold an informal discussion exploring a question close to our community: What role can technology play, alongside policy change, activism, and awareness, in addressing the challenges the film raises?

We’d love to have you there!

More about the film: No Country for Mothers brings together stories from mothers across the U.S. to explore why raising a family is so hard, and how we got here. It examines the expectations placed on mothers, the systems that leave them without support, and the movement to change that. The documentary comes from Moms First, an organization advocating for paid leave and affordable, accessible child care, founded by Reshma Saujani, who also founded Girls Who Code.
