Science and the EPA

As you know, the climate crisis is bearing down hard on the global south; witnessing this and the daily news that affects us here in the US are right in front of us on our screens and in some cases, the air we breathe.

This week's meeting is a TOPICS format, we'll bring into the discussion on how science plays a part in the EPA's decision-making. What is the history of their role in protecting the environment? What does climate science teach us about the need for government intervention?

Just pondering a starting point to our discussion. --> What are your feelings about all of this?

If you are ready to unpack your feelings about this, then you found your community. We meet every 5th day of the month. Keep coming back.

This is a peer-support, virtual gathering circle. Everyone will have an opportunity to express their feelings about the climate crisis and the systems that are intertwined and affected by it. We do not give advice to one another, nor pass judgement. We only listen and resonate.

At the conclusion, we will ask you to fill out a brief survey and provide further resources.

A safe space nothing you say will be shared anywhere else. We come together to unburden ourselves from the heaviness of the climate crisis. To acknowledge our feelings is to uncover, discover, and discard the negativity and pent-up feelings that may prevent meaningful engagement with our work and relationships.

This Climate Emotions Circle will be hosted by a trained climate resilience facilitator.

The point is to share your understanding and/or experience; an expression of your emotions/lack of strength; and finally, an expression of any hope that you are striving for.

Please be sure to have a private and quiet space for this gathering with minimal distractions, camera-on is preferred to enhance feelings of safety and comfort to feel heard.
