RESTORATIVE WELLNESS PLAYGROUND with Kelvin
Restorative Wellness Playground is an interactive, community-centered experience that uses play, movement, and creative engagement as pathways to connection, healing, and belonging.
Too often, communities miss opportunities to truly know one another beyond roles and titles. This workshop invites community members and leaders to come together in ways that are joyful, embodied, and restorative.
Through playful movement, creative games, cultural expression, and guided dialogue, participants explore both their shared humanity and their unique differences. Play becomes a powerful tool for lowering defenses, building trust, and creating space for authentic connection. The experience also incorporates mindful movement that supports proper spinal alignment and counters the impact of sedentary lifestyles, helping participants feel more present and energized in their bodies.
Rooted in Restorative Wellness Practice, the workshop centers diversity, inclusion, and belonging, cultivating an environment where participants feel respected, safe, and valued. With a focus on voice, choice, and personal narrative, attendees are invited to experience empathy and compassion in action rather than concept alone.
Integrated reflection and informal dialogue at the close of the session offer space to gently “remove the mask,” process insights, and carry the experience forward. By blending play with self-care, this work frames wellness as both self-preservation and collective care. As participants release tension, engage honestly, and reconnect with joy, pathways open toward healthier relationships and a more connected, collaborative, and restorative community.
“One does not have to operate with great malice to do great harm. The absence of empathy and understanding are sufficient.”
— Charles M. Blow
