The art of slowing down: A somatic approach to rest and regulation
Rest is not a luxury — it’s a necessity for emotional and nervous system regulation. It's through rest that the body can begin to repair, restore, and integrate — essential functions that can’t happen under constant stress.
Yet, for many of us, slowing down, resting, and doing less can feel deeply challenging. Our conditioning, internalised beliefs and survival patterns often make stillness feel unsafe, unfamiliar or even guilt-inducing.
In this session, we’ll dive into:
✨ Foundational nervous system concepts, such as stress responses and the window of tolerance
✨ Why it's actually so hard to slow down and rest — from a nervous system and emotional perspective
✨ How slowing down can help shift your system into a state of safety, restoration and presence
✨ Multiple tools and somatic practices to embrace stillness and begin to rewire your relationship with rest
✨ How rest is a portal to emotional regulation, creativity, resilience and deeper connection to self
By connecting in a group, we support our individual and collective regulation, remind each other that we are not alone and create a field where healing, presence and transformation become more accessible.
📌 This session is part of a 4-part series introducing Somatic and Nervous System Work.
Each session combines theory, experiential practices and group connection as a way to reconnect with the body, understand how our emotional states and overall well-being are deeply governed by the nervous system and learn practical tools to support yourself in moments of challenge, stress or overwhelm.
These sessions are for you if:
🌿 You are curious about somatic work and want a gentle, grounded introduction
🌿 You feel disconnected from your body and recognise how this impacts your energy, emotions and relationships
🌿 You struggle with anxiety, overwhelm, low energy, or find it hard to relax and be present
🌿 You long for a more compassionate, embodied way of relating to yourself and others
Important: Please note this is a women only group!
