BrainFactory Workshop - The Thinking Lawyer
What if thinking is no longer something you do alone?
AI is not just changing legal work — it is reshaping the nature of legal thought itself. The Thinking Lawyer explores the emerging frontier where human expertise and machine intelligence converge: a space where reasoning becomes external, iterative and shared.
Through design thinking as a guiding framework, we examine how lawyers move from linear logic into continuous dialogue with AI — externalising their thinking into prompts, testing ideas in real time, and shaping workflows that evolve with each iteration. Moving beyond reflection, the session invites participants into hands-on prototyping with AI agents — experimenting with how legal reasoning, processes, and collaboration can be redesigned in practice.
Prompting is not just a technical skill. It is a new form of legal reasoning. The lawyers who understand this — who learn to think with AI rather than merely through it — are building a form of expertise that neither human nor machine could reach alone. The future of legal thinking is not only more critical. It is more collective, more expansive, and increasingly co-created with AI.
This is not a session about tools. It is an exploration, and a live experiment, into the most fundamental question the AI era poses to every legal professional: what kind of thinker do you want to become?
