​It may be (almost) my birthday, but you are the ones receiving the gifts!

​Let’s get together on 19 February 2026 for a relaxed, informal, don’t-bother-with-the-business-cards-because-LinkedIn-exists meetup for Comms professionals in Brussels (and nearby).

​Come as you are, expect nothing besides your own personal expectations, and help make my 2026 wish come true: to meet more people like us.

​Why this meetup?

​What started as a timid post on 5 January asking to connect with more Communications professionals became a snowball of enthusiasm and support. I got more requests and DMs that I could individually handle. Trust me, I tried.

​(The next time that The Powers That Be ask you to ‘’make it go viral’’, tell them I wasn’t even trying. Apparently that’s the secret.)

​When it became clear that meeting with everyone individually was impossible, people started suggesting the idea of a big meetup – my own anxiety about being the centre of attention be damned. ‘’OK, let’s give it a try’’, I thought, while never having done anything like this before.

​Luckily for me, the folks at Social Capital came to my rescue and offered to co-host this special meetup. So, first of all, join me in thanking them; and second of all, help me make it all worth it by showing up on that evening. 😊

​What this about a birthday?

​It turns out that my birthday is the day after this meetup, and the folks at Social Capital thought it would be funny to mix both things. That’s their brand of humour.

​And you’re the one getting the gift in the shape of new Comms buddies. It doesn’t get any better than this – unless there’s cake (please, don’t).

​Why The Terrible Comms Networkers? Aren’t Comms people great at networking?

​It turns out we are not, or at least a big part of us aren’t. Maybe it’s because Comms networking is underrepresented in the great scheme of networking events and, thus, we don’t get enough practice.

​Maybe it’s because we’re much more comfortable being behind the scenes. Or maybe it’s because we’re just humans with this very specific insecurity.

​Either way, let’s be terrible Comms networkers together on this evening. The best part is, I’m sure we will be great at it because this is the most informal get-together ever.

​All are welcome, members and non-members. ​​The event is free - you can pay for your drinks and food directly at the venue.
