​Welcome to Read Your Writing - Fall Market Edition!

​Join us for a relaxed evening of Prose (such as short stories), Personal Essay and Poetry readings with fellow writers and story lovers, this time as part of 🌰 Yangpa Fall Market! Whether you’re an emerging writer looking to share your work, or a reader that just wants to meet local writers and hear their work, this is your space to connect with a small part of the Greater Toronto Area's creative community.

​We’ll gather in the shade near Tyndale University and share our stories in a relaxed, supportive environment. Bring your writing (Prose, Personal Essay, or Poetry) or just come to listen and meet other creatives.

​The plan is to keep it casual, with the primary focus being to foster connection and encourage writers to step out of their shells. Please do not provide criticism, constructive or otherwise, unless the reader specifically requests it.

​Schedule & Logistics

• ​Readers sign up to our reading schedule upon arrival to share their piece

• ​5 – 7 min readings, with breaks in between sets of readings to purchase food & refreshments and to mingle

• ​Open to both Writers and Listeners, though participation is optional and you can simply attend to support anyone reading their work!

​Important Reminders

• ​Seating: Bring a blanket or something to sit on 🪑. Limited chairs will also be available.

• ​Food & Drink: Snacks 🍙, drinks ☕, and other treats are available for purchase from the market vendors (cash or card). Expect matcha, onigiri, pastries, and more.

• ​Reading Signup: Let organizers know your piece 📜 before going up to read.

• ​Recording Notice: Photography & video recording 📸 will take place. Attendance implies consent to be included in photos or video.
