ICA IPC Division Webinar - "Mixing Methods: An Exchange on Research Approaches to Conversations, Encounters, and Relationships"
About this Webinar.
How do the methods we use shape what we learn about human communication in personal and relational contexts? Where do different methodological approaches intersect, and what might meaningful methodological integration look like?
Bringing together five scholars working across ethnography, qualitative analysis, experience sampling, computational approaches, and dynamic dyadic analysis, this webinar explores what different methods reveal about conversations, everyday encounters, and relationships. The panelists will discuss where their approaches overlap, complement one another, or diverge, and consider how integrating methods and findings might advance our understanding of human communication.
Rather than formal presentations, the event will feature brief research examples followed by a moderated exchange and audience Q&A. Scholars and graduate students from all methodological backgrounds are welcome.
