​Tournament Structure: Join us for the inaugural NS Chess Tournament featuring two competitive sections:

• ​Open Section: All skill levels welcome

• ​Under 1000 Section: For players with ratings below 1000 only

​Each section accommodates a maximum of 10 players, ensuring an intimate and competitive environment.

​How It Works: Every player competes in 9 rounds, facing each opponent in their section once - round-robin style.

​Time Control: Games use a 5 | 5 blitz format (5 minutes per player plus a 5-second increment after each move). This keeps games fast-paced while allowing sufficient time for thoughtful play.

​Scoring System:

• ​Win: 1 point

• ​Draw: 0.5 points

• ​Loss: 0 points

​The player with the most points in each section wins their respective division.

​Registration Note: Players with ratings above 1000 must register for the Open section to maintain competitive balance.

​Whether you're a seasoned player or newer to tournament chess, this event offers an excellent opportunity to test your skills in a friendly yet competitive setting.
