Balm: Herbal Care for Pain
Pain sucks! Pain also helps. Pain tells us what hurts, and that helps us know what's going wrong in our body, and how we might be able to heal it. Chronic pain is not that. Chronic pain is debilitating and hard to manage. Chronic pain is one of the many factors feeding the opioid crisis.
Herbs can't do what oxycodone can do (though oxycodone was first derived from an herb - the opium poppy), but herbs can help safely manage some level of acute and chronic pain.
In this workshop we'll unfold how pain works in our bodies and its many root causes and forms. We'll explore different pain management herbs and practices and end with making a pain relieving tincture.
This workshop is sliding scale. $15 funds my work and the materials needed for each person. $25 will fund your materials and those of a neighbor :) Anything beyond that will put towards future classes. If you want to pay in cash or Venmo, text me at 347-687-1170.
If you sign up but later decide you can't make it, please let me know before the workshop so I know how much material to get.
This will happen at the Astoria Food Pantry. If you have any clean clothes or excess food you want re-home, bring them!
