the mindless mires #3: east end ravines
It's time to get out of your head and get into East York! Come cultivate some no-mind on an 11 km walk through the ravines with Happy Town—and get back in time to head to the Canada Day fireworks at Woodbine Beach.
The mindless mires brings together a group of curious people to meet up and walk in the ravines of the Greater Toronto Area. It's a space for people who love wandering conversations, without the pressure of networking or speed dating.
Route: We'll walk from Victoria Park station, through Taylor Creek to the Don, and up to Seton Park where we'll take a break and eat. Then we'll head back to Dentonia Park.
I'll be grabbing Bangladeshi snacks at Azad Supermarket in Crescent Town after. Join if you're hungry!
There are washrooms near the start of Taylor Creek, in Seton Park, and in Dentonia Park.
Heads up: The route is 11 km. Some of it is unpaved—closed-toe shoes recommended. The route is a little longer and more difficult than the mindful miles walk in High Park.
Bring: a water bottle and some food. Note that the walk runs through dinnertime, so eat beforehand or pack something substantial to eat.
Fireworks: There are fireworks at Woodbine Beach on Canada Day at 10:00 PM. Our endpoint at Dentonia Park is right beside Victoria Park station. Take the TTC to Main Street and it's a 30-minute walk south—or you can take the 64 bus.
