[Free women only hike]: Ammersee · Kloster Andechs Loop

​A beautiful loop through one of Bavaria's most beloved landscapes, starting from the shores of the Ammersee, winding through shaded forest along the Kienbach stream, and arriving at the iconic Kloster Andechs, a Benedictine monastery perched on the Holy Mountain since 1455. A gentle, rewarding climb with history, nature and one of the best monastery beer gardens in Bavaria waiting at the top. 🌿

​Distance: 9.3 km · Elevation: ~230 m · Time: 2.5 to 3 h · Difficulty: Easy to Moderate. Gentle, well-marked trail with no technical sections. Suitable for all fitness levels. 🥾

​Getting there: S8 from München Hauptbahnhof to Herrsching, around 1 hour. Trains run regularly.

​Logistics: Group size capped at 15, please sign up. To ensure everyone has a great day, the hike will start promptly at the scheduled time. As the group will be moving together from the meeting points, we kindly ask that you plan your journey to arrive accordingly, as we aren't able to hold the start for late arrivals. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping the day on track!

​Meeting option 1: At München Hauptbahnhof, S8 platform direction Herrsching. Please arrive by 8:50am to board the 9:04am S8. Meeting option 2: At Herrsching S-Bahn station on arrival at around 9:51am. Return: Aiming to be back at Herrsching station by around 15:00 for the return S8 to Munich, arriving back in Munich by around 15:50.

​What to bring: Comfortable trainers or hiking shoes. Packed picnic lunch, snacks and at least 1.5L of water. Sunscreen. Light layers for the morning. 🧺

​Cost: Free. You only pay for your public transport. Bayern Ticket recommended for groups (29 EUR for the first person, 9 EUR per additional person, up to 5 people). Tips for the host in cash or coffee are always welcome. 🪙
