The Scientific Research and Experimental Development Tax Incentive (SR&ED) Program is the largest Government of Canada program supporting research and development in Canada, providing more than $4.6 billion in tax credits to over 20,000 businesses annually. SR&ED tax incentives encourage businesses of all sizes (yes, even early-stage pre-revenue startups!) and in all sectors to conduct research and development in Canada and is the most prevalent support for R&D for Canadian startups.
