*** We take a group photo immediately after the silent reading hour. If you wish to not be in the photo, feel free to step away and stretch your legs while the photo is being taken. Afterward, we take a photo of all the books stacked together. If you’d like to participate in that one, you’re more than welcome to join!

Welcome to the Silent Book Club chapter in Torrance, CA! Whether you're an avid reader or just looking to make some new bookish friends, this group and meetup is open to all. There is no assigned reading and you bring your own book! We read silently with time frames to socialize. All readers are welcome!

How this 2.5 hour meetup works at Mychal's Cafe:
12:30 - 1, We settle in, chit-chat, order beverages/food
1 - 1:10ish, Intros!
1:10ish - 2:10, We read silently. If you wish, bring headphones, ear plugs, etc. for the reading portion of the meetup since there may be café chatter and music.
2:10 - 2:20ish, Optional group book discussion and picture! If you wish to not be in the picture, feel free to step away and stretch your legs while the photo is being taken. Afterward, we take a photo of all the books stacked together. If you’d like to participate in that one, you’re more than welcome to join!
2:20ish - 3, We chit-chat, hang out!
