About Event

Welcome to the second gathering of the Logos Circle Cape Town!

From food insecurity and housing struggles to digital autonomy and surveillance capitalism, we believe meaningful change begins at the local level. This Circle is a chance to deepen our connections, follow up on stories raised last time, and welcome new members into the conversation.

Whether you’re ready to contribute or just curious to learn more, you’re invited.

Agenda:

Arrival
Snacks, drinks, and settling in. If you were at the first gathering, this is your chance to catch up. If you're new, welcome — you're in the right place.

Introductions
A quick round to hear who's in the room and what brought you here. Returners: a sentence or two is perfect. New faces: tell us a bit about yourself and what you care about.

Where we left off
A short recap of the first gathering — what came up, what resonated, and what we're building towards. If you're new to Logos Circles, this will give you the context you need.

Choosing our winnable issue
This is the heart of the evening. A winnable issue is a local, concrete problem that's small enough to achieve but big enough to matter. Last time, food access and safe streets came up strongest. Tonight, we'll hear a few proposals — including from people in the room — discuss what's realistic, and choose the issue this Circle will work on together.

Building the team
A winnable issue only works if people own it. We'll introduce the Circle's team structure and ask who's ready to step into a role: Community Lead, Tech Lead, Comms Lead, Impact Lead. This is the hard ask — and it's how we move from talking to doing.

Close & next steps
What happens between now and the next gathering. How we stay connected, what each person's next move is, and when we meet again.

About Logos

Logos is a fully decentralised, privacy-preserving, and politically neutral technology stack. The stack includes three modular, decentralised protocols: Blockchain, Messaging, and Storage. Combined, they provide the technical foundation for cyber states, parallel societies, network states, or any borderless public institution based on voluntary consent.

Logos is also a collection of learning communities that will govern and sustain the network in the spirit of the original cypherpunks. Together, they form the grassroots movement needed to build the social, economic, and governing institutions that will live on the technology stack.

Eventually, these institutions will populate a competitive marketplace that can fill gaps in governance in the real world, providing trust-minimised, corruption-resistant public services wherever the internet can reach.

Read our manifesto to dive deeper into our ideals and technology.
