The Business Club November Gathering:
Your next big call depends on one person saying yes.
The banker. The seller. The hire you canʼt lose. The customer youʼre about to raise prices on.
You know what you need to say. Youʼve said it a dozen times, in your head, at eleven at night.
A good plan shouldnʼt die in one conversation.
For nearly 20 years, Deb Shapiro has coached professional speakers to move a room. On November 18, she shows you how to move one person.
The talk, in three steps
1. Try on a new view of your customers, your competitors and your own company.
2. Build the conversation in your seat, in two minutes.
3. Try it out loud in the room, on someone who has nothing to decide. Bring the conversation youʼve been putting off. Youʼll leave with the words for it.
About Deb
Deb began in leadership and organizational development, at Bose, GN Netcom and Canon USA. Then she moved into the speaking business as an agent, business manager and coach.
In 2017 she started DEBx, a 90-day program that turns ideas into talks that move an audience.
In 2020 she founded Amplify Voices, a nonprofit that helps people whoʼve been silenced tell their stories on stage.
The Gilbert Chamber of Commerce named it Nonprofit of the Year in 2024. Its first program led to The Journey, a documentary Delta showed on its flights in early 2025.
Sheʼs been to several Gatherings as a guest. Nik worked with her on his own talk last year.
The evening
6:00 Doors. A drink at the bar, music on, and the room fills. 6:30 The host opens the night.
6:40 Deb Shapiro on influence. Then questions from the floor.
7:30 Win. Ask. Offer. Seven minutes from the floor: share a win, ask for help, or offer some.
7:45 The room again. Introductions get made by name, with the reason. Home by nine.
Serious business. Good company.
Most owners make their biggest calls alone. The Business Club is the room in Phoenix where owners, operators, capital, and advisors meet on purpose, six evenings a year. So your next big call isnʼt yours alone.
Business gets done here. Nobody gets treated like a lead.
You're our guest. The evening and the drinks are on us. You don't need to know anyone.
