Deutschland Ticket or organise your own rail fare.

Meeting point is on the platform, by the first carriage. Look out for the viszla dog.

COORDINATION

Please note all coordination is done via the Telegram group t.me/hikeberlin

TOUR

We’ll start our tour by heading west from Götz, passing the infamous marijuana field along the way (no promises there’ll be a crop!). From there, we’ll turn north to meet the River Havel and continue to a picnic spot for lunch.

After lunch, we’ll continue east along the riverside before heading inland to the Aussichtsturm Götzer Berg. Here, we can climb the tower for views across the surrounding countryside.

Our route then takes us through the Deetzer Erdelöcher, an area made up of a series of small ponds. Coming out the other side, we’ll stop for coffee and cake at a small café before heading south to Groß Kreutz, our final stop.

Assuming we’ve timed the season well, expect to find apples, pears, plums and mirabelles along the way. Bring a bag to collect some fruit.

FOOD & DRINK

Bring food for lunch, snacks & plenty of water for the hike.

RETURN

Trains are hourly back to Berlin.

WHAT ELSE

  • You are responsible for your own safety.

  • I prefer smaller groups, as this is less stress on the nature.

  • Wear weather appropriate clothes and sturdy shoes.

  • Bug spray - is essential at this time of year! Bear spray - probably not essential at all!!!

  • **Dogs present/allowed. Please do not feed the dog(s)!**

  • Hike will be at a standard pace of about 4km per hour

  • All costs are yours.

  • Please note my hikes don't always go to plan!

  • Only thunderstorms & torrential rain will halt this hike!

RULES

Attendance Policy
If you are moved to “going” and are either a NO SHOW or do not update your RSVP at least 72 hours before the hike starts, you will receive a 3-month ban* from my future hikes, no exceptions!

Additionally, all participants failing to show up or update their RSVP will be marked as NO SHOW to advise other organisers.

DO NOT just SHOW UP - you will be banned from HIKE BERLIN

Why These Rules?
Late RSVPs and no-shows, are a very annoying thing to manage, and therefore I introduced a two tier signup process, to prioritise fairness for the community.

The goal is to give committed individuals a better chance to participate and maintain a positive group experience. Not just a first click first serve basis.

*It's free, but not free to take the piss!
