Public Comment for Government Effectiveness Ordinance
Join Abundant Leaders and give public comment for the Prop E Commission Streamlining Task Force Ordinance!
While this may sound like a mouthful, it is a key moment to show that there is organized support for government effectiveness. A strong presence in the room, specifically public comment, will make a difference.
Here are some of the ordinance changes and their impact:
Strengthens meaningful public engagement by consolidating boards and commissions - including eliminating 36 inactive bodies.
Makes government easier to engage with by making the currently unwieldy commission system consistent where appropriate - so that San Francisco's government is more accessible to the people it serves.
Creates changes to solve for active bodies that struggle with meeting and achieving quorum and have overlapping responsibilities with other bodies.
Our Supervisors have asked us to come out out and provide public comment on Monday about why this ordinance must be passed to the full board with a positive recommendation!
