Session 6 - Global Health & Development Learning Circle: Exploring Human Progress together

Join the EA Global Health & Development community for a six-part learning and discussion series based on David Nash’s course on "The History and Future of Human Progress". See here for more information on the course and its contents.

We’ll meet monthly on Zoom (sixth session: 2nd of May, 19:00–20:30) to discuss one major theme each time — from vaccines and education to democracy and global governance.

This series is part course and part community space:
🌍 Learn through podcasts, videos, and readings at your own pace.
💭 Discuss key questions together in a relaxed, guided format.
🤝 Connect with others; from newcomers to experienced professionals, and share insights, frustrations, and creative ideas for the future of our field.

Each 1.5-hour session will include:

  • A short icebreaker;

  • Good news updates;

  • “Show & tell” of new findings in the global health and development field;

  • Guided discussion;

  • Takeaways.

For session 6: We will be discussing chapter 5 "The private Sector" from David Nash' course. If you have the time, please go through a few of the case studies (it would also be great if you could bring your own interesting one to briefly present!): https://gdea.substack.com/p/the-private-sector

This is for:
Anyone passionate about global health and development, whether you already work in the field, are exploring a career pivot, or simply want to deepen your understanding of how humanity has progressed and where we can do better.

Sixth meeting: 2nd of May, 19:00–20:30 CET
Then monthly for 2 more sessions

Organized by Effective Altruism Netherlands - the Global Health and Development group
