Please join us to volunteer at the Calgary Drop-In Centre!
IMPORTANT: Once you are registered here, you will receive an email to confirm your shift with the Drop-In Centre. Please follow all instructions there to confirm your shift and complete the short Volunteer Intake Form.
Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early to get settled, meeting at the North entrance.
Important Notice from the Drop-In Centre: Before your upcoming shift, it's important to understand the environment you'll be entering. As a low-barrier shelter, we serve diverse populations, including individuals coping with trauma, mental health challenges, addiction, and behavioral issues. This means you may encounter distressing sights, sounds, and odors, as well as instances of inappropriate behavior between clients or towards staff and volunteers. While we prioritize safety and do everything possible to maintain a secure environment, it's crucial to acknowledge that the shelter can be unpredictable, and we cannot guarantee immunity from physical or emotional harm. You may witness clients in distress and may encounter inappropriate or unkind remarks directed towards others and to yourself.
Members are expected to attend events they commit to or will receive a warning.
Members and executives must arrive on time for meetings and events or notify an executive if they will be late.
