About Event

3 Step Rhythmic Breathing and Refining Exercise (3SRB) is an ancient breathing practice, rooted in Patanjali's Yoga Sutra, that has been practiced and passed down for decades.

In this session, we'll learn and practice it together — a simple technique that takes just 12 minutes a day once you learn it. Whether you're looking for a moment of calm, a sense of flow, or a way to work through stress, anxiety, anger, or guilt, this practice meets you where you are.

As Within, So Without.

I am celebrating this Guru Poornima by opening up a space to share a breathing practice I've held close to my heart for a long time.

1992 | I was mid hide-and-seek at home, ducking under a cot, when the master Sri S N Tavariaji walked into the room to address a small gathering. I didn't know it then, but that's the room where this practice started reaching me. We (our family) have been practicing it. My father has shared it with thousands of people — judges, officers, students, prisoners, professionals, and co-travellers.
2025 | Years later, at a leadership bootcamp (AgamiShaala), a fellow participant — an IAS officer — asked me over lunch, "What's the secret behind your deep calm and mature presence?" That's when I realized: this practice, quietly repeated since childhood, had become something people could actually see and feel. The next morning, I shared it with a small group from our cohort. It's called the 3 Step Rhythmic Breathing and Refining Exercise (3SRB).

I've practiced it almost every day since — on Himalayan treks, before school, college, or office, and on sick days. It has helped me sail through exams, interviews, breakups, setbacks, and more. I feel grateful to find peace, calm, and flow every day through it.

Over the last few months, I've quietly shared it with friends and colleagues in small groups. I treasured it so deeply, I didn't mention it to anyone in my circle until last year.

This Guru Poornima, I'm ready to open that space further.

On 6th August, Thursday, I will be hosting a learning and practice session from 8-8.45 AM IST. Once you learn, it takes only 12 minutes a day to practice.

It's for anyone looking for a moment of calm, a sense of flow, a way back to themselves — anyone working through stress, anxiety, anger, or guilt.
