About Event

At Compound, we've long been obsessed with sleep, publishing our in-depth research last year. It's among the highest impact indications and arguably the only population-scale one outside of GLP-1s. Every normal person instinctively gets it (e.g. in a poll we ran, most people said they'd pay $1k/month out of pocket for an Ozempic for Sleep). Yet until now pharma has paid almost no attention to it.

We're hosting a Research Day on sleep to bring together researchers, entrepreneurs, and investors working on its frontiers.

Speakers include:

  • Paul Dagum of Applied Cognition with its PII Alzheimer's asset that promotes deep sleep and glymphatic waste-clearance along with a headset for non-invasively measuring that in at-home settings

  • Keith Murphy of Attune Neurosciences on the application of FUS to sleep

  • Loren Frank of Stanford on his work teasing apart the mechanisms behind sleep's interplay with memory formation

  • Rahul Thapa of Stanford on his work developing a multimodal sleep foundation model for disease prediction and agentic analysis of 50TB of PSG data

  • Yanan Zhao of Stanford on her work discovering and validating novel circuit that drive sleep regulation

  • Yue Leng of UCSF on her epidemiology work studying the relationship between sleep and neurodegenerative diseases
