Manhunt: Martians vs Humans
👽 MARTIANS VS HUMANS 🔵
90 minutes of hide-and-seek meets tag, after dark in San Francisco!
🔵 HUMANS: Avoid being caught and make it back to base.
🟢 MARTIANS: Catch the humans and turn them into martians.
We have glowsticks enough for 10 teams. Only one team member needs to register, and teams can be up to 3 people.
🎮 HOW TO PLAY
Meet at the meeting point: the stairs at the corner of Alamo Square Park (Fulton St & Steiner St). We will explain the rules and begin at 6:30pm sharp, so please don't be late!
This map shows the boundaries of the game.
Each team receives a blue and green glowstick. Most teams start as 🔵 humans; a few start as 🟢 martians. Keep your team's active glowstick visible at all times.
Humans get a 10-minute head start before martians begin hunting.
If a martian tags a human, the entire human team becomes martians. Switch to green, announce it on WhatsApp, and start hunting! Martians can stay together or split up.
Teams must share their locations at two designated times (see below).
Return to BASE by 8:00 PM. Humans who make it back without being tagged are safe!
📱 GAME SCHEDULE & WHATSAPP
At least one person per team must join the WhatsApp group and set reminders.
6:30 PM — Humans scatter!
6:40 PM — Martians start hunting.
7:00–7:15 PM — 📍 ALL teams share LIVE location for 15 minutes.
7:30 PM — Live sharing expires. Back into hiding!
7:45 PM — 📍 ALL teams send their CURRENT location (not live) and keep moving.
8:00 PM — Game ends. Everyone returns to BASE.
Use WhatsApp for announcements, location reveals, and reporting captures.
🏷️ TAGGING RULES
A tag is a light tap on the arm or shoulder. No grabbing, pushing, or tackling.
No tagging across roads, inside shops/restaurants, or on public transport.
No tagging anyone while crossing a street.
Once tagged, your whole team switches to 🟢 green.
🗺️ BOUNDARIES
Stay within the shared Google Maps boundary, including both sides of boundary streets.
Leaving the area = your team is eliminated.
Public spaces are fair game, but respect residents and businesses.
No trespassing, restricted areas, rooftops, or residential buildings.
Shops and cafés are fine for normal visits or breaks, but no active hiding or tagging inside without permission.
⚠️ SAFETY FIRST
Obey all traffic rules. Never run across roads or through traffic.
Running is allowed in parks and open green spaces, but not on busy sidewalks or through crowds.
No hiding behind cars, in bushes, or in dangerous places.
Respect the public — don't involve or frighten nonplayers.
Anyone can leave the game by notifying the organizers.
🏆 WHO WINS?
🟢 Martians win if they catch every human team.
🔵 Humans win if they survive and reach BASE by 7:30 PM without being tagged.
