How often does it happen that you buy something and then wonder “why did I buy it”?

And how aligned do you think your spending is with your values?

For many of us, emotional spending often happens unconsciously and reactively. We treat stress with online shopping, or reward ourselves with "I deserve this" purchases that may provide relief in the short-term, but make us feel guilty in the long-run.

Add to this a disconnect between our values and our spending: when these two things are misaligned, we experience a more intensified feeling of guilt and sometimes even anger with our money choices, often not even fully understanding why.

The result is that we feel like we’re “bad with money”, which over time can materialize in financial stress.
