​What: Shred the debt is a Nationwide Campaign to Eliminate Medical Debt
The Oakland Shapers Hub is proud to be part of Shred the Debt, a nationwide campaign led by Global Shapers across the United States to eliminate medical debt and advance financial dignity for communities in need.
After raising funds to erase over $2.2 million in medical debt last year through the Sacramento and Chicago hubs, Global Shapers across the United States are now mobilizing further. With support from the Innovation Prize awarded by the Global Shapers Community, Shred the Debt has grown into a nationwide movement to abolish medical debt.
$1 has the power to erase $100 of medical debt.
