About Event

Sentientism is a worldview summed up nicely by the motto: “Evidence, reason and compassion for all sentient beings”. These meet-ups are a chance to discuss strategies for moving the world towards one that better aligns with these values.

For this meet-up, we’ll be focusing on culture and language. The discussion will explore how sentientist values could shape cultural norms, narratives, and everyday practices; how language influences the way we think about and relate to different sentient beings; how current cultural and linguistic frameworks align or conflict with compassion for all sentient beings; and what practical changes might help move society in a more sentientist direction.
