​Honoring Our Roots: A Ceremonial Cacao Gathering

​This is a private event open exclusively to members of Latinas in Tech and members of monday’s Mi Gente ERG.

​In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, join us for an intentional gathering centered around ceremonial cacao, ancestry, reflection, and community.

​Together, we’ll slow down and connect with the grounding and heart-opening qualities of cacao while exploring its cultural significance and our own relationship to ancestry, ritual, and the natural elements.

​Through cacao, meditation, journaling, altar-building, and shared reflection, we’ll create space to honor where we come from and consider what we want to carry forward.

​What to Expect

• ​An introduction to ceremonial cacao, its origins, and cultural significance

• ​The collective creation of an altar

• ​An invitation to bring a meaningful object or offering to place on the altar

• ​Sharing ceremonial cacao and setting personal intentions

• ​A guided meditation centered on gratitude, ancestry, and the natural elements

• ​Time for journaling and reflection

• ​A closing sharing and integration circle

​What to Bring

​If you’d like, bring a small object, photograph, flower, written note, or other meaningful offering that connects you to your family, ancestors, culture, or roots. We’ll add these objects to our collective altar for the duration of the gathering.

​Come in comfortable clothing and with an open mind. Journals and pens will be provided.

​Before the Gathering

​If possible, eat lightly beforehand and avoid additional caffeine immediately before the ceremony.

​Everything offered during the gathering is an invitation — you are welcome to participate in the ways that feel right for you.

​**Ceremonial cacao contains naturally occurring caffeine and theobromine. Please contact the host before registering if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, are highly sensitive to stimulants, or take medication that may interact with cacao. You are welcome to request a smaller serving.
