Step into a cozy, curiosity‑driven café space where generalists get to shine. Omaha is joining cities around the world for International Generalist Day — a global celebration of people who explore widely, connect ideas, and refuse to fit into just one box.
Julia Burgess is hosting the Generalist Granola Lab to bring Omaha‑area generalists together through conversation, creativity, and collaborative granola‑making. The event will be held at Myrtle & Cypress Coffeeshop — a warm, multipassionate space that showcases its baristas’ creativity on its shelves and is nestled between the Omaha Conservatory of Music and the Omaha Community Playhouse. It’s the perfect home for a celebration of curiosity, breadth, and the many‑paths spirit of generalists.

Bring one granola add‑in that connects to something you love — a hobby, a passion, a career, or a tiny piece of your personality.
Your ingredient is your Show & Tell item.

We’ll mix all our ingredients together (don't worry, I'll bring the granola base) to create a giant Generalist Granola: a crunchy, colorful blend that represents how our diverse interests make something amazing when combined.

Julia Burgess is a community builder, facilitator, and coach who has lived a beautifully squiggly life — from serving as an Army Sergeant to living in an off‑grid cabin, from facilitating leadership development workshops to teaching Zumba, and from designing learning experiences to building meaning‑centered communities. She creates spaces where people feel seen, connected, and celebrated for the many paths they explore.
This meetup is run by Julia Burgess and organized by Generalist World - the community where generalists belong. You'll find everything you need to grow in your career - support, opportunity, lots of learning and great new connections.
