International Generalist Day 2026 🌍
Imagine meeting people who actually understand what it’s like to have a squiggly background, too many interests, and a career that doesn’t quite fit into one neat box.
Join Khusshboo Mehta, Anupama Sahore, Prerna Prasad in Dubai for International Generalist Day 2026 — a global celebration bringing generalists together in cities around the world.
The official global day is September 16, and our Dubai gathering is happening on Thursday, September 17 from 7 PM.
This year, we’re doing something a little different.
Instead of another networking evening where everyone talks about work, we’re having a 5-minute skill share.
Everyone has something random they know how to do. Maybe you make really good coffee, know a photography trick, can sketch, fold origami, teach us something in another language, do a card trick, fix something, or know something oddly specific that rarely comes up in normal conversation.
Bring one thing you know and, if you feel like it, take five minutes to teach, show or share it with the group.
You don’t need to be an expert. You don’t need slides. It doesn’t need to be impressive. The whole idea is to learn something new from each other and get to know the people in the room beyond their job titles.
What is a generalist?
Generalists are people who apply their skills across different areas, connect ideas that might not usually sit together, or often find themselves translating between different teams, industries and disciplines.
If you’ve ever struggled to explain what you do in one sentence, changed directions a few times, or simply been curious about too many things at once, you’ll probably feel at home here.
What to expect
Meet fellow generalists in Dubai
Share a small skill, hobby, trick or random piece of knowledge
Learn a few things you probably weren’t expecting to learn that evening
Meet people without the pressure of formal networking
Be part of International Generalist Day happening across cities around the world
What to bring: One thing you could share in about five minutes. If you need a small prop or material for it, bring that along too.
