Reframing Failure: A Workshop with Shift Canada
What if failure isn't something to avoid, but something to learn from?
Join YSpace and Shift Canada for an interactive 2.5 hour workshop designed to help students rethink how they approach failure, setbacks, uncertainty, and taking risks.
Rather than treating failure as something to overcome or hide, this experiential session explores failure as a normal and valuable part of the entrepreneurial, professional, and personal journey.
Through hands-on activities, reflection, and conversations with other York students, you’ll:
Explore your own relationship with failure and setbacks
Learn how to reframe challenges as opportunities for learning and redirection
Develop practical tools for reflection, risk assessment, and forward planning
Build greater comfort with uncertainty, iteration, and taking smarter risks
Learn how to separate your sense of self from the success or failure of a single idea, project, or decision
The workshop will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A with AJ Tibando, CEO of Shift Canada, giving you the opportunity to hear directly from an experienced leader who has built organizations across entrepreneurship, education, technology, and policy.
