This is a collaboration between Queering Existentialism and Briana Rose. Logina is the founder of @queering_existentialism, an education and connection initiative based in NYC that creates events focused on healing-centered harm reduction, non-violent communication, restorative justice, and intentional use of cannabis, psychedelics & sexuality✨
Queering Existentialism is excited to welcome Briana, @breathe.bri. Briana Rose is dedicated to creating brave and supportive spaces where individuals can embrace the full spectrum of their emotions. In a society that often encourages the suppression of difficult feelings and the facade of perpetual happiness, Briana believes in the transformative power of acknowledging and accepting our complex emotional landscapes. With compassion and presence, she strives to leave a lasting impact by empowering people to exist authentically with their emotions. Briana’s work reflects her deep commitment to holistic healing. Recognizing the urgent need for inclusive and transformative healing spaces, especially within marginalized communities, Briana Rose offers a sanctuary where individuals can access powerful healing modalities such as meditation, breathwork, somatic movement, and compassionate space-holding. Here, people are encouraged to acknowledge and release complex emotions like anger, grief, and depression, ultimately reclaiming their bodies and minds.
This event is sponsored by Flamer (@hey.flamer) a local cannabis & lifestyle brand that will provide goodies for the event ☺️✨🌈✨💜 as well as @fernway ☺️
What is Breathwork?
Breathwork encompasses rhythmic breathing patterns. Some are accelerated breaths and some are slow inhales & exhales. This activates the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system, which gives the body permission to process trauma. As the body takes in more oxygen it awakens the body's natural regenerative and restorative functions. During the session your body may feel tingly, pressure, spasms, itchy, or shaky. Allowing your body to move freely without stopping these sensations, gives the body space to process trauma and move energy. You may have the urge to kick your legs or rock your body, these are somatic movements. Which also help your body to process trauma and make space for healing.
