Join the Open University Debate Club (OUDC) for a non-party-political talk with John Lamont, the MP for Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk, on how politicians frame arguments, build speeches, develop key messages, answer difficult questions and adapt ideas for different audiences.

Meeting time and date: Monday 28 September 2026, 5pm to 6pm, on Zoom.

Agenda

  • 5pm: Welcome and introduction

  • 5.05pm: 45-minute talk from John Lamont

  • 5.50pm: Audience questions

  • 6pm: Close
