YIP Presents: Run the Block, Run the Ballot - Getting Involved in Local Political Power
Philly politics is hyperlocal but not always transparent.
Join Young Involved Philadelphia and Philly 3.0 for a night of real talk on how power works at the grassroots level.
You’ll hear from ward leaders, committee people, election officials, and political journalists who will break down:
What a ward is and why it matters
The roles of ward leaders and committee people
How elections are run at the neighborhood level
How endorsements get made and ballots get built
Why this often-overlooked system shapes so much of Philly politics
Whether you're looking to get involved or just make sense of it all, this event is for you.
Free with RSVP | Complimentary light snacks | Drinks available for purchase | Civic engagement resources on-site
