Feet in 2 Worlds: Stories of a City Shaped by Immigrants

​Join us for an intimate evening of food and drink with Feet in 2 Worlds as we celebrate Arun Venugopal, Iggy Monda, and Aria Young — some of the immigrant journalists shaping the story of New York. Chef Nadege Fleurimond, a former Feet in 2 Worlds fellow, will provide an array of Haitian and Caribbean flavors.

​As New York enters its next chapter, immigrants must be among those documenting and defining this moment. At a time when federal mass deportation policies and anti-immigrant rhetoric are creating fear and uncertainty, New York is forging a different path. A young immigrant mayor is one visible symbol of a broader hope many New Yorkers are expressing — for a city in which immigrants are central to its civic life, culture, identity, and future.

​Feet in 2 Worlds (Fi2W) was built for this moment. For more than 22 years, Fi2W has invested in the people and infrastructure that allow immigrant journalists to report from within their communities. Through intensive training and mentoring, Fi2W has created a vital pipeline of immigrant journalists in the media industry. By supporting Fi2W, you will help strengthen a growing network of immigrant reporters, editors, and producers whose work has shaped how New York tells its story — and how the country understands immigrants.
