​Floral arrangement is one humanity's earliest expressions of pure aesthetic beauty and it's easier than you think.

​This session will cover:

• ​an overview of the various flower arrangement styles

• ​the classic shapes and when to use each

• ​how to build a color palette that holds together

• ​the handful of tools that actually matter

• ​and a very simple 3-step method for building an arrangement at home

​No experience or materials needed, but if you'd like to try an arrangement during the hands-on demonstration, bring some of your favorite flowers, scissors, and a vase.

​About the Presenter:

​Daniela Field sees a flower arrangement the way a mathematician sees a good proof: balance, proportion, and a little surprise. She is head of growth at Vimedra by day and does flower arrangements and comedy by night.

Daniela has traveled to 50+ countries and has gathered many floral traditions along the way, from market bouquets to ceremonial arrangements. She has taken multiple classes from Boston-area florists and MIT's Japanese Ikebana classes, and has been handling her friends' and family's flower arrangements for years.

She finds the impermanence and beauty of flowers to be therapeutic and believes a few stems can uplift the mood in an entire room. She hopes to share the joy of flowers with others through her in-person and virtual events and her Instagram account.
