About Event

Antisemitism is happening in our schools and too often, parents don’t know it’s happening.

Students have seen classmates give Nazi salutes, heard “dirty Jew” directed at Jewish students, and been confronted with “Free Palestine” simply because they are Jewish or Israeli.

This workshop, organized by Bay Area Jewish Coalition - San Mateo County, will give parents and high school students practical tools for what to do when antisemitism happens.

For Parents

A practical Antisemitism Response 101:

What’s happening in our schools now - Keren-Or Reiss

What we are seeing in local schools, what parents should be aware of, and how to encourage kids to speak up and tell us when something happens.

What to do next - Maya Bronicki

What to do when an incident happens — who to contact at the school and district, how and when to escalate, UCP complaints, and other available resources.

For High School Students

Roy Meron, beloved teacher at Wornick and Crystal Springs and a Club Z educator, will lead an interactive session built around real-life situations students face.

Students will practice how to recognize antisemitism, respond in the moment, speak up, report what happened, and know when to turn to an adult for help.
