What is This Session?

Founders are under pressure from every angle; rising costs, aggressive scaling expectations from investors, retailers squeezing margin — and on top of all of that, a growing expectation to build ethically and sustainably. So the question we're asking is: can you actually afford to build a sustainable beauty or wellness brand, or is it a luxury that early-stage founders simply can't justify?

We're joined by Oriele Frank, Co-Founder and ex-Chief Product & Sustainability Officer at ELEMIS - one of the UK's most successful premium skincare brands. Oriele has spent decades navigating the tension between building a brand with genuine ethical credentials and running a business that scaled to become a multi-million pound international brand. She is also a member of the BBUK 2026 Beauty Board, and she is here to give you the honest version of what sustainable brand-building actually looks like from the inside.

Hosted by Paul Finch, co-founder of Growth Studio and the architect behind Breakout Beauty UK. As the programme designer who has helped accelerate over 2,500 startups across 18 countries, Paul will draw out the tactical insights that matter and push Oriele with the questions founders are usually too cautious to ask.
