Information Session: Effective Altruism Summit 2026

Come hang out with us on Zoom for a quick, friendly info session about EA Summit: South Africa, returning for its third year in Cape Town! We'll walk you through what the day looks like, who's going to be in the room, and how to grab your spot. Bring your questions, because we'll have time for them.

The summit is one full day of evidence, ideas, and action, built around the world's most pressing problems and the people actually doing something about them. Whether you're brand new to effective altruism or you've been at it for years, you'll leave with sharper thinking, real connections, and a concrete next step. That might be a role to apply for, an initiative to start, or a pledge to make. It's open to everyone, and it's especially made for people who get things done: leaders, professionals, funders, organisation builders, and students ready to point their careers at the problems that matter most.

Not sure if it's for you? This session is the perfect place to find out. We'll also share a bit about Effective Altruism South Africa, which helps people maximise the impact of their resources and careers through capacity-building programs and career advising. Since 2024, we've seen more than 160 program completions, around 24 people move into high-impact roles, and about 5 new high-impact initiatives get off the ground. Pop in, say hello, and come celebrate what's ahead with us!
