Desolas Mezcal Tasting at Ray's Hometown Bar in NY
We’re taking over Ray’s Hometown Bar in Brooklyn for an intimate tasting featuring Desolas Mezcal, a mezcal that breaks from the usual script.
Desolas is made from 100% Salmiana agave in San Luis Potosí. Maestro mezcalero Manuel Olivera cooks the piñas in above-ground brick ovens, mills them with stone, and distills in copper, which is why Desolas is known for a low-smoke, herbal, bright profile.
We’ll taste four expressions, from the Joven through the Reposado to two single-barrel Añejos, and see what time in ex-bourbon oak does to the same agave.

WHAT TO EXPECT
6:30 PM: Doors open. Welcome drink included for the social hour
7:30 PM: Guided tasting begins. Introductions, pour-by-pour exploration of four expressions
8:00 PM: Light bites served. Final expression presented, closing remarks
