Anti-racism Training
This is a 2-hour online session for anyone who wants to explore anti-racism in a thoughtful, practical, and supportive way.
No prior knowledge is needed. This is a welcoming space to learn together, reflect at your own pace, and think about what meaningful anti-racist change can look like in everyday life.
What we’ll explore
The difference between race, ethnicity and nationality.
Racism as a system - how identity, intersectionality and power shape our experiences and interactions
Why the past still shapes the present, and how understanding this can help us make more intentional choices
Abolitionism in the present day
As with all Sorabird training, this session uses Liberatory Pedagogy, so that we can all learn together and embrace what we already know to be true as we design the future we want to see.
If you have any access requirements, adjustments, or anything you’d like me to be aware of to help you get the most out of the session, please do to get in touch at sellisha@sorabird.co.
About the facilitator
This session is facilitated by Sellisha, founder of Sorabird Co, an inclusive wellbeing company supporting individuals and organisations to move away from harm and towards more inclusive, caring ways of working. We do this through our consulting work and through building the Sorabird Platform for membership organisations.
Her work is rooted in intersectional and anti-discriminatory practice, informed by lived experience and years of supporting people and organisations to understand how systems of oppression impact wellbeing. Her approach is practical, compassionate, and focused on real-life change.
Pricing
These sessions are free of charge, with a recommended donation to support our community work. Please give what feels right for you. Your presence is what matters most.
