About Event

Plan Vivo is pleased to invite you to an exclusive, invite-only half-day event at London Climate Action Week bringing together leading voices in the Voluntary Carbon Market to discuss one of the most debated nature-based climate solutions: Indigenous Peoples and Local Community (IPLC)- led forest carbon projects.

Join us on Thursday, 25 June, 1:00–5:00 PM in the heart of London (Covent Garden) at the Conduit.

1:00–4:00 PM | Main Programme

4:00–5:00 PM | Networking Drinks Reception

ABOUT THE EVENT

As scrutiny of forest carbon has intensified, questions around nature-based solutions have focused on the integrity and impact of community-led projects. Plan Vivo has played a key role in this sector of the VCM and has a 30-year track record of championing equitable benefit-sharing while developing robust and accessible carbon methodologies.

Recent developments such as the ICVCM's Core Carbon Principles, evolving methodology frameworks and the growing recognition of beyond-value-chain mitigation in credible net-zero strategies, point toward a maturing market which increasingly demands the tools and literacy to distinguish quality from noise.

This event is designed to contribute to that conversation by reviewing and dispelling some of the common myths associated with IPLC-led NbS and acknowledging them as an integral part of the climate solution.

Through structured discussion and direct insight from project representatives and carbon credit buyers, we will examine four pillars which are frequently questioned by the market:

  • What is the risk profile of community-based projects?

  • What is the value for money delivered by community-led forest carbon projects?

  • Can community carbon projects meet market demands in terms of volume and scale?

  • How easily can community-led forest carbon projects be developed in the current finance landscape?

The event will end with a network session with drinks and snacks. Places are limited. To confirm your attendance or for further information, please register using the Luma registration platform.

We look forward to welcoming you.
