Urban Hike: Walk the Appian Way
βπ Getting There Meet at Roma Termini at 9:30am. We board train 20237 together departing at 9:42am. Arrive at Torricola station at 9:52am. Please purchase your own ticket in advance. The ticket is only β¬1 and can be bought on the Trenitalia app or at the ticket machine.
βπ The Route
β10:00am : We start walking The first kilometer follows a road without a sidewalk so we'll stay together and walk single file. This section lasts around 15 minutes and brings us to the start of the Appian Way.
β10:15am : The Appian Way begins ποΈ We walk 2km along one of the oldest and most famous roads in the world, making plenty of stops to explore the monuments, tombs and ruins along the way.
β11:00am : Water break at Via di Tor Carbone There is a drinking fountain here. Take 10 minutes to rest, refill your water bottle and enjoy the surroundings before we continue.
β12pm : Lunch π½οΈ We'll sit down together for an early lunch at a restaurant along the route. I'm making the reservation based on the number of girls confirmed so please let me know in advance if you will NOT be joining for lunch.
β1:30pm : San Sebastian Catacombs π This is our finishing point. If you'd like to stay and explore the catacombs after the hike you're more than welcome to.
βπ Getting Home At San Sebastiano there are buses connecting to both Metro A and Metro B. We'll split into groups based on which line you need so no one gets left figuring it out alone.
