Legal Session and Consultations for Small Businesses: How to Build a Strong Legal Foundation
This legal presentation with Legal Aid Society will provide small business owners with a clear understanding of the essential legal documents required after forming a business entity, such as a LLC or corporation. Participants will learn about key materials that establish and verify business ownership, including operating agreements, bylaws, and ownership structures as well as other critical post-formation requirements.
The presentation portion will occur from 6-7pm at Welcome to Chinatown with opportunity to have one-on-one legal consultations with Legal Aid Society and financial consultations with NYC Department of Small Business Services afterwards. Consultations will help business owners strengthen their documentation, better position themselves for financing opportunities, and avoid common barriers when seeking loans. Attendees who wish to participate in consultations will need to bring in legal and/or loan documents related to their business.
This will be a hybrid event. Please note that if you are attending virtually, you will not be able to participate in the one-on-one consultations.
