Paystack <> NSBE: Building with AI
There's never been a better time to build with AI. The tools are accessible, the APIs are free to start, and the problems worth solving are everywhere.
Building intelligent systems is a three-day, in-person workshop hosted by Paystack and NSBE Ghana for developers in Accra who are ready to move from curiosity to shipping. There are no slide-heavy theory sessions and no passive learning. Every session ends with something working.
Across three days, you'll go from understanding how AI products are structured, to wiring in payments, to building an AI agent that takes orders and processes transactions on its own. Each session builds on the last, so by Day 3, you'll have the full picture of what it takes to build and monetise an AI product in Ghana.
What to Expect
Day 1 — AI Systems for Builders
Learn how modern AI products are actually built. Not by training models, but by calling APIs, designing prompts, and shipping fast. You will get hands-on with Google AI Studio, write your first model call in Python, and build a working AI product by end of day.
You will build ApplyGH, a CV and cover letter generator that reads your uploaded CV, matches it to a job description, and produces two tailored PDFs.
Day 2 — Payments for AI Products
A good product without a business model is a hobby. Day 2 is about monetising what you build using Paystack. You will cover pay-per-use billing, subscriptions, and webhooks, then extend the product you built on Day 1 and add a real billing layer.
You will build ApplyGH v2, the same product now with a free tier, a pay-per-pack option, and a monthly subscription plan. Payment confirmation triggers CV generation.
Day 3 — Building AI Agents that Use Payments
AI agents do not just respond. They reason, decide, and act. Day 3 goes deeper: you will build a custom AI agent, define tools the agent can call, and wire in a Paystack payment as one of those tools.
You will build FoodPilot, a terminal-based AI agent that accepts a natural language food order, looks up the menu, calculates the GHS total, and initiates a Paystack payment.
