​Once a year, Bali does something that no other place on Earth does. 🌏

​The entire island goes offline 📵. There are no cars, no flights, no lights and no internet. The beaches are empty. The streets are silent. The airport is closed. For 24 hours, 4.3 million people — and every visitor — stop completely. 🤫

​Nyepi ✨ The Balinese Hindu New Year, is not celebrated with fireworks and parties, but with total silence, stillness and self-reflection. It's a spiritual reset for the whole island. Everyone is invited — actually, everyone is required to participate! Ubuntu — if you know, you know! 👥

​What happens: 🔥 The night before — Ogoh-Ogoh parades take place in the streets. Giant demon statues, drums, fire and noise! One last burst of chaos before the silence begins. 📵Nyepi Day — 24 hours of complete stillness. Everybody stays indoors with no plans. Just you.🌺 The day after is Ngembak Geni. Families and friends gather together, forgive each other, and make a fresh start.
