​Head to the Brixton Culture Capital bar and settle into a cosy corner with a sofa, low table and Caribbean snacks. Begin with a short introduction from your host, who will explain what rum is, where it comes from, and why it matters in Brixton.

Taste six different rums, one at a time, from Barbados, Martinique, Jamaica and Guyana, finishing with a house rum distilled in Brixton Village. Each rum is brought over, poured and explained, including where it's from, how it's made and what to look for.

Take your time with each rum, talk it over with your group and enjoy the snacks. When you're ready, your host will bring the next rum. By the end, you'll understand rum in a way most people who drink it never do.

When the last rum is done, the bar is right there and the evening is yours. Most people stay.
