Mayor’s Boater Safety and Bay Education Task Force on Feb. 19
Attend the next meeting of Mayor Daniella Levine Cava’s Boater Safety and Bay Education Task Force.
The Boater Safety and Bay Education Task Force Meeting will hold its next meeting on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Miami-Dade Main Public Library Auditorium (101 West Flagler Street, Miami, FL 33130).
This month’s meeting will focus on waterway management, with an emphasis on boating restricted areas, designated watersport zones, speed zones, channel markers and mooring fields. We’ll discuss how these tools are used to promote safety, reduce conflicts on the water and improve navigation as well as explore current challenges and potential opportunities for improvement.
This Task Force, launched in partnership with the Lucy Fernandez Foundation, brings together community leaders, boating safety advocates, and government representatives with the shared goal of protecting Biscayne Bay and improving safety on our waterways.
All meetings of the Task Force are open to the public and conducted in accordance with Florida’s Government in the Sunshine Laws. A final summary of recommendations will be presented to the Mayor’s administration to guide future action aimed at reducing boating accidents and fatalities while protecting Biscayne Bay.
Have Fun, Be Safe.
