Panel Discussion: Staying Relevant Between Milestones

In biopharma, attention spikes around data readouts, regulatory decisions, financings, partnerships, and launches. We're the ones responsible for keeping a company's story alive in between, translating steady, unglamorous progress into something stakeholders can still follow. Yet staying visible between catalysts means walking a line: go too quiet and the narrative stalls, say too much and it starts to look manufactured. This panel opens a discussion on how communicators sustain narrative momentum between major catalysts, decide which interim stories are worth telling, and protect credibility for when it matters most.

Key Takeaways:

  • Tie individual announcements to a bigger enterprise narrative that can evolve through pipeline setbacks, leadership changes, and shifting timelines, while keeping the company's credibility intact.

  • Sustain stakeholder confidence during long stretches when meaningful work is underway but headline results aren't.

  • Identify which scientific, corporate, patient, leadership, and organizational stories meaningfully advance positioning, and who the right voice is to carry them.

  • Protect visibility without manufacturing news, overstating the data, or setting expectations the business can't support.

About Our Event Partner, Biosector 2

Biosector 2 is built around a model that prioritizes senior expertise and long-term relationships in healthcare communications. Part of Syneos Health, the agency operates exclusively in healthcare and life sciences, working with companies navigating high-stakes moments where scientific, regulatory and reputational pressures intersect. Rather than scaling through volume, it has leaned into depth — embedding senior advisors directly into client work.

That approach is reflected in its structure. The agency’s “Brain Bank” model gives teams rapid access to specialized expertise across the firm, often delivering coordinated guidance within hours on complex issues.

Growth has followed from those relationships. More than two-thirds of 2025 growth came from existing clients through expanded scopes and new assignments, with more than half of clients remaining on the roster for three years or longer.

The work focuses on translating complex science into communications that resonate across audiences. Recent programs include campaigns raising awareness of RSV protection among parents through trusted voices and community engagement, as well as storytelling initiatives centered on lived experiences within rare disease communities.

That emphasis on connection extends internally. The agency’s culture is built around mentorship and knowledge-sharing, with long-tenured leadership and structured programs linking senior advisors with emerging talent. Leadership tenure averages more than 15 years.  The result is a firm that has chosen to deepen expertise and relationships in a sector where both are critical to navigating uncertainty.
